Predictions are floating in the market that Apple is all set to launch a new 4-inch phone in 2016, which will resemble the iPhone 5S. This latest device is assumed to be introduced in the market in the first half of 2016 and it will be powered by the latest A9 chips which are also present in the newly-launched iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S plus. But the feature of the pressure sensitive touch 3D might not be present in this smaller model, which is an integral part of iPhone 6S, this is done to differentiate this unique lineup.
The experts suggest, as there happens to be a high demand for a smaller screen phone, Apple will effectively upgrade this 4-inch iPhone lineup. iPhone 5S has been more popular in public than the iPhone 5C, therefore, it’s predicted that Apple will also launch an upgraded iPhone 5S along with the 4-inch iPhone. Apple is most likely to mass-produce this new 4-inch iPhone in strong 1H16 metal casings. It’s also assumed that in order to ensure smooth running of the latest iOS 9 and the next-in-line iOS 10, Apple will feature an A9 chip in this new phone and the 4-inch iPhone.
Ming-Chi Kuo, who happens to be a reputed analyst of KGI securities, stresses the fact that this new 4-inch iPhone wouldn’t be just a revamped version of the colorful and plastic iPhone 5C. Kuo has a strong record of spot-on predictions. He had correctly predicted about the launch of the 5.5 inch and 4.7 inch iPhones, the latest apple watch, the 12-inch Macbook, and almost the entire line-up of the latest iPhone 6S.
This highly anticipated 4-inch model might be named the iPhone 6C. Kuo further predicted that this 4-inch iPhone will be provided with the same camera specs as the iPhone 5S, which means an 8-megapixel camera iSight and the conventional 1.2-megapixel selfie or FaceTime camera. But the processor for this latest device is predicted to have been upgraded to the recent A9 chip. Kuo further believes that this latest model will have the aesthetics and design of the iPhone 6 and 6S. The 4-inch iPhone will have rounded edges and a subtle curve towards the glass. It’s also likely to be launched in two to three colors.
This latest iPhone will have a metal exterior, therefore, it’s expected to feel and look ‘iPhone luxurious’. But by the latest iPhone standards, this newer version will also look tiny and might be unappealing for certain people. Kuo further predicts that due to the extreme success of larger-screen iPhones, the idea of a small 4-inch iPhone might backfire and Apple might not be able to generate the blockbuster sales they expect. The full year sales are expected to be around 20 to 21 million in the year 2016. These sales are less than 15% of the complete iPhone volume in 2016.
This 4-inch iPhone is expected to be a low-prized model and the public response for this tiny device might be surprising for the trade analysts. Well, as of now we can only wait, take these predictions with a pinch of salt, and keep our fingers crossed for this latest development!
